Merry Christmas!

By Karen and Erica

We like to sleep in on Christmas, now that our children are grown and not agitating at the crack o’ dawn to see what Santa brought and how many cookies he ate.

Then we like to get up, light the tree, and have a cup of coffee. We have much to be happy about—not the least being that our incredibly wonderful children are with us.

Food plays a big role this day. (It has been scientifically proven that calories do not count on Christmas Day, so we like to take advantage.) First, an extravagant breakfast. Corn muffins? Cinnamon rolls? Truffled scrambled eggs? Fortified, we’ll then start making a feast for later. We’ll eat and drink too much, and then it will all be over. And we will go back to sleep. And we’ll sleep in again tomorrow.

Merry Christmas!
